I’m originally from Toledo, Ohio and spent my childhood drawing, reading, and occasionally creating my own books. After receiving my BA in art from Xavier University, I was a graphic artist and designer for several years before entering the publishing industry. My publishing roles gave me opportunities to use my existing graphic art and design skills, but I also gained extensive experience in higher education content development, print and digital production, editing, and formatting.
After a job loss in 2016, I started freelancing full-time and founded Sassy Lady Publishing Services (later Sassy Lady Design & Editorial). The company’s services included editing, formatting, content revisions, page design, and project management.
Creating art was a nearly non-existent part of my life for 20 years, but I knew I would eventually return to the practice. In the late 2010s, I started drawing regularly and joined Urban Sketchers Cincinnati. Taking these steps was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made and several years later, creating art is a now cornerstone of my life.
I currently reside in Cincinnati, where I work full-time as a design coordinator at a clinical research organization and am the owner of Kendra J. Brown Visual Art. In my “non-art” time, I listen to (mostly) romance audiobooks, cook, travel when possible, and love to learn new things.
